LR prelim chase scene

  • There is some good filmmaking here – the pace for the very first shot immediately injects some excitement although you definitely needed music to help create that dramatic atmosphere and tension.
  • There is a useful lesson in filming here – the first two shots are a jump cut which loses that feeling of continuity. It shows the importance of filming from different angles and doing multiple takes so you don’t end up having to jump cut between two of the same shot.
  • Was there some audio of chatting in the background? That would be one to check carefully for your real coursework as that would definitely hold the mark in the lower levels.
  • The ending is the best bit – some brilliant close-ups and some dialogue that starts to link to the fantasy genre. For the real coursework, I would have more developing that idea and less of the chase but of course you may have a completely different plan for the actual coursework.
