Film poster analysis

Language
The Fall poster is clearly a movie poster because the title is in bold and considerably bigger than the rest of the text which immediately shows the audience what the title of the movie is and the tag line is smaller just above the title to help gain the attention of the audience. The poster has the two main characters in an intense and dangerous situation creating suspense the effect this has is that it shows the movie fits into the thriller genre, you can also tell that its a thriller because of words like fear in the tagline as the tagline usually gives you a clear idea on what the film is about. At the top of the poster it says the names of the actors that play the main Characters and has opinions from Variety, a company that reviews films. All of these aspects follow the expected codes and conventions of a movie poster.

Industries
Fall was directed (and co-written) by Scott Mann, whose other movies have also been thrillers. The main Actors (written above the tagline) that star in the movie are Grace Caroline Currey, Virginia Gardener and Jeffery Dean Morgan. The Canadian-American owned company Lionsgate released Fall earlier this month. Lionsgate focuses on making "foreign and independent films" which refers to films that are made outside the Hollywood system.

Audience
The film appears to be targeted at an audience of mixed gender however it could be targeted more towards a female audience because the only people on the poster are women. Preteens and teenagers who are interested in thriller and want to watch something with suspense would probably watch this. The age rating for Fall is PG13 originally the movie contained a lot of bad language not for a higher age range but since Lionsgate picked up the movie they made it more suitable for younger viewers by "deepfaking" the scenes that had bad language in it.

Representation
The two main Characters shown on the poster are both women which is unusual as the movie industry is dominated by men, Although a lot of thrillers are based around women majority of them are based around a male main character. Which is what makes Fall unusual. There is two or three people of colour throughout the movie which is becoming more common in new films and movies because people are more aware of the struggles that people of colour face, Although it seems like a small amount of people of colour in this film there is a very small cast who play in the movie. However i do feel like people of colour are not getting enough representation as they could because none of them play main Charactars in the film.
