Media assessment learner response

WWW: This is a very strong start for your first media assessment and clearly shows we want to be targeting those top grades. Your knowledge of media terminology is secure and you are already writing in some depth.

EBI: The challenge is writing answers with sufficient depth and sophistication to reach the top level of the mark scheme. This may mean analysing more elements of the media text or discussing a wider range of potential meanings or connotations. In question 6, examples would have helped push this to the top level.

5) Beyoncé being in the centre shows that she is the main focus, she is wearing a revealing red dress which connotes love and romance this could make the audience feel as though by wearing her perfume they gain those things and become more like Beyoncé which appeals to her fanbase who look up to and idolise her. The dress appears to be very high end which makes the product seem classy. The slogan "catch the fever." shows how the product is spreading amongst people and creates the idea that the product is very popular and everybody is getting it, the word fever could also connote heat which further emphasises the idea of passion.
